The Health Benefits of Miso Soup: Japanese Chicken Soup
There are many types of miso soup to choose from, all with many health benefits.
The health benefits of Miso Soup may be much better than chicken soup!
Many people think that the best cure for the common cold is not to be found on the shelf in a pharmacy, but rather in a bowl at home: chicken soup. Indeed, chicken soup often tends to make us feel better when we are under the weather.
But Miso Soup, containing a few simple but very healthy simple ingredients, is full of a wide range of nutrients and health benefits, and is key in helping to fight against and lower the risk of a very deadly disease.
Wakame, another ingredient in miso soup, also has health benefits
The wakame seaweed added to miso soup also possesses its own nutrients:
- helps lower blood pressure
- reduces cholesterol.
- combination of wakame and miso is an effective fighter against nicotine-related disorders
Miso soup helps to prevent breast cancer
The health benefits of miso soup help to lower the risk of breast cancer. Many residents in Japan eat a bowl every day, and studies have shown that doing so can help significantly reduce the risk of breast cancer. The main reason for this is fermented soy paste, a main ingredient used to make miso.
While you might want to eat more than one bowl a day, thinking to further increase your health benefits, health advocates also argue against this due to high amounts of salt in miso soup.
Another of the health benefits of miso soup is regulation of the hormone oestrogen in women; too much of oestrogen in the system can result in the development of tumors.
Nutrients found in miso soup:
- antioxidants
- protective fatty acids

- Vitamin B12
Miso soup also has plenty of minerals that will help to improve and strengthen your immune system.
